Budgex is as affordable as a bowl of ramen from your favorite street vendor! We offer a free account, as well as a paid subscription for a mere 9.99 EUR per year. With the free account, you can still enjoy the delicious taste of Budgex, but there may be a limit on the number of classification rules (50) and the number of visualizations that you can save (10). But don’t worry, the paid subscription will give you access to all the toppings and extras, so you can fully customize your Budgex experience to your heart’s desire. So whether you’re on a tight budget or looking for a little extra something, Budgex has you covered!

When your subscription ends, you will fall back to the free tier with a limited number of categories, rules, and visualizations. However, all of the categories and rules that you have created will still be stored on our servers and will be available to you if you choose to renew your subscription in the future. Please keep in mind that while your data is still available, you will only have limited access to it during the free tier and you will not be able to use it in the analysis shown to you until you purchase a new subscription.

Absolutely! Your data is as safe as Fort Knox with Budgex. We make sure that all your data is encrypted end-to-end to ensure that your information is protected. Rest assured, your data is in good hands with Budgex.

Hey there, great question! So, the automatic bank link feature on Budgex is super simple to set up. First, you’ll need to provide explicit consent for us to have access to your bank transactions. Don’t worry, we’ll only be able to see the accounts that you choose to give us access to.

Once you’ve given us the green light, we’ll be able to retrieve your recent transaction history, which can range from 3 months to 2 years. Keep in mind that we’ll only be able to retrieve those transactions for a maximum of 3 months. After that, the permission to access those transactions will automatically expire and you’ll have to renew it.

Think of it like a library card for your bank transactions! With Budgex, you’ll always have the most up-to-date information at your fingertips.

Great question! When it comes to transactions from friends paying you back for restaurant costs, it’s all about getting the best overview of the “actual cost” in that category. Even though it may be considered income for your account, it’s best to categorize it under the “Restaurant Cost” expense category. That way, when you combine it with the original payment you made to the restaurant, you’ll have a clear picture of how much you spent in total. It’s like getting a two-for-one deal on your finances!

Well, that’s a great question! Transactions to your own savings account can be a bit tricky. They’re kind of like ghosts, they’re there but they don’t represent a real income or expense. That’s why we recommend assigning them to the “Transfers” category, which is a child of the “Ignore” category. This way, they’ll be out of the way and won’t mess with your analysis.

By doing this, most of your visualizations only show “Expense” or “Income” categories and these transactions will not show up in your analysis, making it more accurate. Think of it like putting your savings account transactions on a “do not disturb” list. You’ll know they’re there, but they won’t interrupt your financial analysis.

Oh boy, investments transactions can be a tricky one! But don’t worry, Budgex has got your back. There are multiple ways to treat this, and it really depends on your personal taste and what you prefer.

One option is to create a separate root category called “Long-term Investments” where you can categorize all your investments transactions. This will give you a clear overview of your investments, separate from your expenses.

Alternatively, you can create an “Investments” category under “Expenses”. This way, if you decide to make the Investments category a subcategory of your “Expenses”, it will show up in your expenses visualizations. This could be handy if you’re making regular monthly deposits to your savings account, but it could also be a bit annoying if the transactions here are very large and very rare (like buying a house).

Whatever you decide, Budgex will be here to help you make sense of your investments transactions, and make sure they are organized in a way that makes the most sense for you.
